New Chapter in Hungarian-Kenyan Agricultural Relations

The Kenyan Model Farm Program: A significant new chapter in Hungarian-Kenyan agricultural relations began on September 20th 2025 at the OMÉK international agricultural exhibition in Budapest with the launch of the Kenyan Model Farm Program, supported by the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture.

How does a program work?

The initiative aims to demonstrate the efficacy of Hungarian seeds, input materials, and soil conditioning solutions under actual Kenyan operational conditions. Following successful demonstration, these technologies will be adapted to local production practices and integrated into everyday farming techniques.

Program Implementation and Goals

The program operates through model farms, allowing farmers and agricultural experts to directly observe the technologies in action. Field demonstrations are complemented by training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities. The long-term objectives are to strengthen sustainable production in Kenya and expand the market presence of Hungarian agricultural innovations in East Africa.

Key Partnerships and Developments As part of the Kenyan management delegation’s visit to Hungary, they toured Humikal Agro Trade Ltd. The guests were introduced to the latest developments in the Humikal Universal product range. Discussions centered on exploring the possibilities for local product testing in Kenya.
